Laryssa Lee Books showcases The How To Series, a light-hearted self-help collection. Readers find practical guidance and humor in tackling everyday challenges with titles like How to Adult and How to Travel.

Hi, I’m Laryssa — writer, creator, and the slightly chaotic human behind the How To Adult book series.

When I first stepped into adulthood, I had no guide, no mentor, and definitely no manual. I learned everything the hard way — through trial, error, panic-Googling, burnt dinners, confusing paperwork, and a whole lot of “why did nobody tell me this?”.

I wrote these books because I don’t want anyone else to feel as lost as I did.

The How To Adult Series was born from that wish: a collection of practical, honest, relatable guides for young adults who want to feel capable, confident, and prepared — not overwhelmed. From cooking and cleaning to budgeting, communication, relationships, emotional health, and even travel, each book breaks down the skills that make life smoother, saner, and a little less chaotic.

My goal is simple:

to give you the advice I wish someone had given me when I was starting out.

With humour, clarity, and heart.

You don’t need to have everything figured out — you just need tools, guidance, and someone in your corner.

That’s what these books are for.

Welcome to the journey.

You’ve got this — and now, you’ve got a manual.

Our Aim

To entertain and inform.

The Vision

Offering readers honesty and humor, our books inspire confidence in handling life’s ups and downs while encouraging personal growth.

Our Approach

Breaking big life skills into small, doable actions anyone can master.

Writing

Crafting Engaging Content

Creativity

Employing humorous narratives to make complex topics relatable and enjoyable for all audiences. My brain thrives on its 100 open tabs of future projects, to do lists a mile long and sometimes forgetting what I went into a room for.

Research

Combining personal experience, research and many a late night laugh-a-ton with friends to ensure each title is relatable and provides young adults with the advise they would need.

Communication

Choosing to be a faceless creator due to shyness, anxiety and the fact that showing up online can feel overwhelming. My wrinkles remind me of my age but I haven't finished learning how to adult either...but at least we can figure it out together. Take these books and my online presence like a much beloved, relatable older friend who gives great advise but lives a continent away so we don't meet or talk face to face much.

Community

Building a supportive network where readers feel valued and connected through shared insights and experiences. Mainly via social media posts. Why do I not respond to everyone? Please refer to above point titled 'Communication'.
