Why Write A Book

Hi, I’m Laryssa Lee — faceless creator, anxious introvert, accidental writer of an
entire book series, and someone who spent way too many years feeling like I missed the adulting tutorial everyone else got.
If you’ve ever felt lost, overwhelmed, embarrassed to ask basic questions, or quietly convinced everyone else has life figured out except you…
you’re in the right place.
Because that was me.
Actually — that is me.
And it’s why I decided to write The How To Series, a collection of honest, practical, funny guides about everything I wish someone had told me when I first stepped into the world on my own.
The Real Reason I’m Writing These Books
I didn’t set out to become an author.
I set out to stop other people from feeling as lost as I did.
There was a time I would’ve given anything for a simple, non-judgy explanation of how to budget, how to clean without crying, how to cook something edible, how to manage anxiety, how to navigate relationships — basically, how to exist as an adult without feeling like a fraud.
Every mistake you can think of?
I made it.
Twice.
Ok, I lie. Numerous times.
And every time I searched for help, everything was too formal, too clinical, too “I have my life together and you should too.”
I don’t want that for you.
I want you to feel like you’re learning from someone who’s right beside you — messy, imperfect, figuring it out one disaster at a time.
My Purpose
My purpose is simple:
To make adulthood less overwhelming, less lonely, and a lot funnier.
My books aren’t here to lecture you.
They’re here to guide you gently, humorously, and realistically.
You’ll never hear “Wake up at 5 a.m.” or “Just stay motivated.”
Instead you’ll hear:
“That feeling you have? Completely normal.”
“Here’s the easiest way to do this without tearing your hair out.”
“If you’re overwhelmed, start here — and breathe.”
If one person reads my books or blog posts and thinks,
“Okay… maybe I can do this,”
then I’ve done my job.
Why I Don’t Show My Face (and Probably Won’t Anytime Soon)
Let’s get this out of the way:
Yes, I’m a faceless creator — not because it’s trendy, but because I’m shy, anxious, and still learning how to adult myself.
I get overwhelmed easily.
I do not enjoy being on camera.
I overthink everything from my hair to my background to the fact that my plants look suspiciously dead.
Creating faceless content allows me to focus on what I can do:
write, teach, help, and create things that make people laugh or feel less alone.
It doesn’t mean I don’t want to connect — it just means I connect best through words, stories, and shared experiences rather than pointing a camera at my face.
So if you see me active online but not super chatty, or posting reels that don’t feature me speaking into the camera, just know:
It’s not because I don’t care.
It’s because I’m doing my best in a way that feels safe and sustainable
What You Can Expect From Me
Whether you follow me on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, or just here on the blog, here’s what you’ll get:
✔ Honest advice
Not the Pinterest-perfect kind — the real “here’s what actually works when you’re exhausted and overwhelmed” kind.
✔ Humour
Adulting is heavy enough.
If we can’t laugh at ourselves, we’ll cry into our laundry piles.
✔ Practical tips
Fast, simple, doable.
No unnecessary steps, no complicated hacks.
✔ A safe space
No shame.
No expectations.
No “you should’ve known this.”
Just learning, growing, laughing, and surviving together.
My End Goal
I want to build a library of books, guides, checklists, and resources that become the survival manual we all deserved.
I want you to feel supported — even on the days your motivation is missing, your sink is full, and life feels too big.
And one day, when someone younger, or newer, or more overwhelmed than you asks how you learned to handle life…
you’ll be able to say,
“There was this series. It helped more than I expected.”
That’s my end goal.
That’s why I’m here.
If You’re New Here
Welcome. Truly.
I’m glad you found me.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to pretend.
Just take one small step, one tiny win, one gentle breath at a time.
And if you ever feel lost, confused, embarrassed, or like you’re the only one trying to figure out how life works — remember:
You’re not alone.
You’re just human.
And you belong here.
